Recently, Xinsheng Company, a subsidiary of BTW, in collaboration with the China Electric Power Research Institute, conducted a temperature rise test on fan coolers. The test verified the variation patterns of cooling capacity under different oil temperature rise conditions. The series of experimental data provides a computational basis for product design in the power industry and supports the advancement of more precise and intelligent power station operation and maintenance (O&M).

The heat dissipation performance of fan coolers is directly related to the stable operation of key equipment such as transformers. Through precise measurements of heat dissipation performance under various typical temperature rise conditions and in-depth analysis of cooling capacity variation data, this test addressed the industry challenge of insufficient accuracy in estimating cooling capacity during field applications. It also validated the scientific rigor and accuracy of existing industry standards, offering data support for the practical implementation of these standards.

The outcomes of this test deliver multiple practical benefits. In terms of heat dissipation capability assessment, power station operators can now use the industry standards and calculation methods verified in this test—combined with real-time monitoring of equipment oil temperature and oil flow data—to quickly and accurately determine the actual heat dissipation capacity of coolers. This provides a "precise benchmark" for equipment condition evaluation. From an O&M efficiency perspective, accurate cooler performance data enables power stations to scientifically plan maintenance windows, significantly reducing the frequency and duration of unplanned outage repairs. This makes maintenance efforts more targeted, driving the transformation of power station O&M from "experience-driven" to "data-driven," thereby achieving the goals of precision and intelligence in O&M.
