BTW Specialized Products Set Industry Benchmarks

The specialized transformers developed by Baoding TianweiBaobian Electric (BTW), leveraging their core advantages of high reliability, high adaptability, and high efficiency, precisely meet the power supply requirements of multiple special scenarios and specific operating conditions. They have achieved comprehensive breakthroughs in production capacity, technology, and market presence, continuously empowering "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" with robust equipment capabilities and contributing to the construction of a safe, efficient, and low-carbon modern energy system.

I. Phase-Shifting Transformers

BTW is currently one of the few manufacturers globally and the sole domestic manufacturer possessing a complete phase-shifting transformer technology system and supply track record.

(1) Jiangsu Yangzhou 110kV Ping'an Phase-Shifting Transformer Demonstration Project

The company supplied the first domestic 110kV phase-shifting transformer for this project, which was energized and put into operation in July 2023.

This project is China's first transmission phase-shifting transformer project and also the country's first transmission project utilizing a 110kV phase-shifting transformer for power flow control on the backbone grid network.

(2) HebeiZhengding 110kV Kou Village Substation

The company supplied the first domestically produced single-core phase-shifting transformer system with complete intellectual property rights for this substation (consisting of a 110kV single-core phase-shifting transformer and a 35kV single-core phase-shifting transformer), which was energized and put into operation in December 2024.

(3) Ghana National Grid

The company supplied 250MVA/330kV autotransformers with phase-shifting capability for this project, intended for a crucial power interconnection project linking the Ghana National Grid and the Burkina Faso National Grid. They were energized and put into operation in March 2025.

II. Gas-Insulated Transformers

(1) CLP Power Hong Kong Limited

Environmentally friendly SF6 gas-insulated transformers were developed and manufactured for CLP Power, achieving a low noise level of 52 dB. They were delivered in April 2021.

(2) MTR Shenzhen Rail Transit Line 13

The company supplied 110kV gas-insulated transformers for this project, which were delivered in September 2024.

III. Adjustable Reactors

The company supplied 32MVA-160MVA/220kV adjustable reactors with five-stage capacity regulation for the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan. The regulation range is the widest in the world. They were energized and put into operation in May 2024.

IV. Rectifier Transformers

(1) Variable Frequency Drive Rectifier Transformers

The world's first 110kV single-unit 36-pulse variable frequency drive rectifier transformer was successfully developed and manufactured by BTW, achieving internationally leading product performance. It was delivered in November 2025.

The developed 45MVA/10.5kV 3X30-pulse phase-shifting rectifier transformer was included in the Hebei Provincial Key Area First (Set) Major Technical Equipment Product Catalog. It was delivered in June 2024.

(2) Ice-Melting Rectifier Transformers

Over 130 units of this transformer type have been produced and are operating stably on transmission lines in Hunan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Qinghai, Tibet, and other regions, receiving high recognition from both customers and the industry.

V. Mobile Transformers

The company developed a 40MVA/110kV mobile transformer, which serves as the core equipment for temporary rental substations. It can meet the temporary power needs during the construction of new projects and was delivered in January 2024.
